Movebothdrivecontrolleversto the neutralposition(parkingbrakeon)tostopthe motionof the ridingmower.2. Pushthe PTOswitchdownwardto the DISENGAGEDposition.3. Usethe decklift handleto raisethe deckto its highestposition.4. Ifdismountingthe tractor,movethe drivecontrolhandlesfully outwardinthe neutralpositionwhichalsoengagesthe parkingbrake,movethethrottle/chokecontrolleverto the FAST_ position,turn the ignitionswitchto STOP6 andremovethe keyfrom the switch.Donot leavethe seat of the riding mowerwithout disengagingthe PTO,moving drivecontrol leversfully outward in the neutral position (parkingbrakeon). If leavingthe ridingmower unattended,turnthe ignitionkeyoff andremovekey.DrivingOn SlopesReferto the slopegaugeinthe SafeOperationSectionto helpdetermineslopeswhereyoumaynot operatesafely.Donot operate on inclineswith a slopein excessof 15degrees(a riseofIapproximately2J/2 feet every10feet). Theridingmower could overturnandcauseseriousinjury.1. Alwaysdriveacrossslopes,neverup anddown.Controlthe speedanddirectionofthe ridingmowerusingprimarilythe controlleveronthedownhillsideof the ridingmower,with the uphillcontrolleverremainingessentiallyinafixed position.2. Avoidturningdownhillif possible.Startat the bottomofaslopeandworkupward.Alwaysslowdownbeforeturning.3. Useextracareandgoslowlywhen turningdownhill.Operating The PTOOperatethe PTOclutchasfollows:1. Movethe throttle/chokecontrolleverto approximatelythe midthrottleposition.2. Pullthe PTOswitchupwardto the ENGAGEDposition.3. Advancethe throttle/chokeleverto the FAST_ position(full throttle).4. Theoperatormustremaininthe ridingmowerseatat all times.Iftheoperatorshouldleavetheseatwithoutturningoff the powertake-offswitch,the ridingmower'senginewill shutoff.5. ThePTOclutchcannotbeoperatedwhenthe ridingmowerisdrivinginthereversedirection.ThePTOwill disengagewhen bothdrivecontrolleversaremovedto the reverseposition,andwill re-engagewhenone(or both)controllever(s)is movedto the neutralor forwardposition.Figure 2018
