For highquality output, we recommend cleaning these parts once a month.Platen GlassUnderside of the FeederFeeder Scanning AreaRollerWARNINGWhen cleaning the machine, first turn OFF the main power switch anddisconnect the power cord. Failure to do so may result in a fire or electricalshock.Do not use alcohol, benzene, paint thinner, or other solvents for cleaning. Doingso might result in plastic parts becoming deformed.Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet regularly, and clean the areaaround the base of the power plug's metal pins and the power outlet with a drycloth to ensure that all dust and grime is removed. If the power cord isconnected for along period of time in a damp, dusty, or smoky location, dustcan build up around the power plug and become damp. This may cause a shortcircuit and result in a fire.Platen Glass and CoverClean the platen glass and the platen glass cover by following the procedure below.IMPORTANTIf the platen glass or the platen glass cover is dirty, the original may not be scannedcleanly, or the size of the original may be detected incorrectly.Maintenance9
