Clickthe cover back into place.This backup battery allows the camcorder toremember the date and time and other settingswhen main power source is removed. It has alife span of about a year.When it needs replacing (or if it has not beeninstalled), the y mark flashes in the display.Remove the old battery by pushing up thenreleasing and lifting out. Make sure to attach a power source to the camcorderfirst, so it will remember your chosen settings when you change the battery.Taking care of the battery packB DAlways attach the terminal cover.• Do not allow any metal objects totouch the terminals, as this can causea short circuit and damage the batterypack. Attach the terminal coverwhenever the battery pack is notbeing used.Keep the terminals clean.• The camcorder adapter or battery pack will not work properly if the terminalare dirty. Attach the terminal cover whenever the battery pack is not being used.Storing the battery pack• If you do not use a battery pack for a period of more than a few months anyremaining charge may cause damage to the battery pack, and reduce usage time.To prevent damage therefore, aim to use a battery pack’s complete chargebefore storage.
