184Replacing the Date BatteryIf the Set Date/Time menu appears when you turn on the camerapower, the date battery charge is low and the date and time settingshave been lost. Please replace the battery with a generic CR2016lithium coin battery with the following procedures.Please note that the first date battery may appear to expirerelatively quickly after you purchase the camera. This isbecause it is installed in the camera at the point ofmanufacture, not when you make the purchase.z Be particularly careful to keep the date batteries out of the reachof children. Seek medical assistance immediately if a childswallows a battery since corrosive battery fluids could damagethe stomach or intestinal wall.1 Turn off the power and open the CF card/batterycover (p. 21).2 Remove the battery pack, then pull out the batteryholder by hooking your fingertip under the bottom ofthe battery holder edge.3 Push up the edge of the date battery with yourfingertip, then pull it in the direction of the arrow.4 Place a new date battery into the date battery holderwith the negative terminal (–) facing upward.NegativeTerminal (–)2 3 4Battery holder
