76Selecting the Size and Quality of StillImagesStill images are recorded on the memory card or the disc using the JPEG (JointPhotographic Experts Group) compression.You can select the size and quality of still images. As a general rule select a larger imagesize for higher quality stills (for example for printing and enlarging); or a smaller imagesize if you want to record more images on the memory card or want smaller file sizes (forexample for e-mail attachments or for web pages).Approximate number of still images that can be recorded on amemory card:Approximate number of still images that can be recorded on a disc:: Super Fine, : Fine, : Normal* This number is the number of images that can be recorded on the disc; however, themaximum number of remaining images displayed on the screen will be 9999. Depending on the number of images on the memory card or disc (Windows:more than 1800 images; Macintosh: more than 1000 images), you may not beable to download images to a computer. Try using a card reader to downloadthe still images recorded on the memory card. Connection to a PictBridge compliant printer will not work when the memorycard contains more than 1800 images.
