21PreparationsEPreparationsStep 1: Preparing the Power SupplyThe camcorder can be powered by a battery pack or be connected to a household poweroutlet. Charge the battery pack before use.Attaching and Charging the Battery Pack1. Turn off the camcorder.2. Attach the battery pack to thecamcorder.Slide in the connector end of the battery inthe direction of the arrow and press itgently until it clicks.3. Connect the power cord to theadapter.4. Plug the power cord into a poweroutlet.5. Connect the power adapter to thecamcorder’s DC IN terminal.The CHARGE indicator starts flashing.The indicator will stay on when thecharging is completed.Once the battery is fully charged:1. Disconnect the power adapter from the camcorder.2. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet and the adapter.To remove the battery pack:Hold the BATT. button pressed down to release it, and pull out the batteryfrom the ridge on its bottom part.Attaching the Ferrite Core (Asia only)Attach the enclosed ferrite core before you connect the CA-570 Compact Power Adapterto the camcorder.Attach the ferrite core to the cableabout 7 cm from the plug end (theplug to be connected to thecamcorder) of the CA-570 CompactPower Adapter.Pass the cable through the centre of the coreand wrap it around the core twice, then close the unit until it clicks shut.BATT. buttonCHARGE indicatorRemove the battery terminal cover beforeattaching the batteryDC IN terminal7 cm
