Instrumentation and Controls. . . 138Power Running Boards (Ifequipped)Power running boards automati-cally extend outward from thevehicle to make entering andexiting the vehicle easier.When a door is opened, therunning board for that side of thevehicle will extend.When the door is closed, therunning board will retract andremain underneath the vehicleuntil the door is opened again.The vehicle must be stationary forthis feature to work.To disable this feature, press thedisable switch located on theinstrument panel switchbank.Press the button again to restorenormal operation.Note: The running boards must bein the retracted position to bedisabled.NOTICEBe sure to retract the powerrunning boards before yourvehicle goes through anautomatic car wash.Otherwise, the vehicle couldbe damaged and the repairswould not be covered by yourwarranty.■ REAR CARGO AREACAUTIONIt can be very dangerous todrive with the liftgate or liftglassopen. Carbon monoxide (CO)gas can come into your vehicle.You cannot see or smell CO. Itcan cause unconsciousness andeven death.If you must drive with theseopen or with the seal betweenthe body and liftglass or liftgatebroken, make sure all windowsare closed and turn the fan onto the highest speed using anysetting that brings in outsideair.
