Programmable AutomaticDoor LocksIf your vehicle has an automatic transmission, thevehicle is programmed so that the doors will lockautomatically when all doors are closed, the ignitionis on, and the shift lever is moved out of PARK (P). Thedoors will automatically unlock when you stop thevehicle and move the shift lever back into PARK (P).If your vehicle has a manual transmission, the vehicle isprogrammed so that the doors will lock automaticallyafter the vehicle speed reaches 5 mph (8 km). The doorswill automatically unlock when the ignition is turnedoff and the key is removed from the ignition.If someone needs to exit the vehicle once the doorsare locked, have that person use the manual leveror power door lock switch. When the door is closedagain, it will not lock automatically. Use the manual leveror the power door lock switch to lock the door.The power door locks can be programmed throughprompts displayed on the Driver InformationCenter (DIC). These prompts allow you to choosevarious lock and unlock settings. For more informationon programming, see DIC Vehicle Personalizationon page 3-70.Rear Door Security LocksYour vehicle has rear door security locks that preventpassengers from opening the rear doors on your vehiclefrom the inside.The rear door security locksare located on the insideedge of each rear door.You must open the reardoors to access them.To use these locks, do the following:1. Insert your key into the slot next to the rear doorsecurity lock label and turn it to engage the lock.2. Close the door.3. Repeat the steps for the other rear door.The rear doors on your vehicle cannot be opened fromthe inside when this feature is in use.2-10
