5. Driver and software features5.8 Reading Environment5.8.1 DescriptionOverviewThe reading environment settings for diagnostic displays allow the user to specify the color temperatureand luminance of the Barco SteadyColor displays. The reading environment settings for non-diagnosticdisplays allow the user to specify the maximum luminance of other displays attached to the workstation.Image 5-9Supported display controllersWhen driven by an MXRT-x500 or later display controller, the Reading Environment can be configured onMDMC-12133, MDNC-6121, Barco MDRC displays, and third party displays.Diagnostic reading environment configuration is available on Coronis Uniti displays thatare calibrated with QAWeb 1.13.01 or later and on MDNC-6121 displays that are config-ured with QAWeb 1.13.10 or later. Additionally, the system must not be connected to theQAWeb Server. If connected to the server, set the reading environment using the QAWebAgent. There is no QAWeb requirement for non-diagnostic reading environment config-uration.5.8.2 OperationUsing Reading Environment for SteadyColor Diagnostic DisplaysConfigure the white point chromaticity, ambient light, color calibration model, and calibrated luminance touser preference. After the settings have been changed, the QAWeb Agent will check if it has calibrationfiles for the new settings. If it does, it will upload the calibration data to the display, which may take 20-60seconds. If it does not have the calibration files, it will calibrate the display to create them, which may takeup to 10 minutes. When changes to the Reading Environment for Diagnostic Displays are made, the BarcoSystem Settings Control Panel will indicate that changes are still in progress. Please letthe system apply its changes before proceeding with readings.Using Reading Environment for Non-Diagnostic DisplaysReading Environment can be individually enabled on each non-diagnostic display to reduce its luminance.Unlike DimView, the luminance of these displays will not change with cursor movement. The ReadingEnvironment feature can be used in conjunction with DimView.28 K5905271 DISPLAY CONTROLLER 27/02/2017
