If thecentral control module has to be exchanged, you may needto change the IP settings. For further information on MAC ad-dresses, refer to the online help.Explanatory Note on Shutting Down the SystemIf the OpenCom 510 is disconnected from the mains supply, its main memory isdeleted. The main memory stores the current configuration data, which are regu-larly copied to the CompactFlash memory card. Restarting the system causes it tocopy the current configuration data from the main memory to the CompactFlashcard, which ensures that the most recent configuration is restored when thesystem is started up.4.4.4 Installing Interface CardsInterface cards can be installed or exchanged with the system powered up (“hot-plugging”). Proceed as follows:1. If you want to exchange an interface card, the slot for this card needs to bedeactivated first.Open the PBX Configuration: Ports: Slots page in the Configurator. In thetable row listing the card to be exchanged, click on Stop. The system thendeactivates the slot. Any connections (telephone calls, data transfers) estab-lished through this card will be terminated.2. Remove the screws with which the interface card is secured in the 1-12 frameand pull the card out.3. Unpack the interface card and check whether it is the desired type. The typedesignation is printed on the front of the card.
