480i IP Phone User Guide 41Limited Warranty Limited WarrantyAastra Telecom warrants thisproduct against defects andmalfunctions during a one (1) yearperiod from the date of originalpurchase. If there is a defect ormalfunction, Aastra Telecom shall,at its option, and as the exclusiveremedy, either repair or replacethe telephone set at no charge, ifreturned within the warrantyperiod.If replacement parts are used inmaking repairs, these parts may berefurbished, or may containrefurbished materials.If it is necessary to replace thetelephone set, it may be replacedwith a refurbished telephone of thesame design and color. If it shouldbecome necessary to repair orreplace a defective ormalfunctioning telephone setunder this warranty, the provisionsof this warranty shall apply to therepaired or replaced telephone setuntil the expiration of ninety (90)days from the date of pick up, orthe date of shipment to you, of therepaired or replacement set, oruntil the end of the originalwarranty period, whichever islater. Proof of the original purchasedate is to be provided with alltelephone sets returned forwarranty repairs.ExclusionsAastra Telecom does not warrantits telephone sets to be compatiblewith the equipment of anyparticular telephone company.This warranty does not extend todamage to products resulting fromimproper installation or operation,alteration, accident, neglect, abuse,misuse, fire or natural causes suchas storms or floods, after thetelephone is in your possession.Aastra Telecom shall not be liablefor any incidental or consequentialdamages, including, but notlimited to, loss, damage or expensedirectly or indirectly arising fromthe customers use of or inability touse this telephone, eitherseparately or in combination withother equipment. This paragraph,however, shall not apply toconsequential damages for injuryto the person in the case oftelephones used or bought for useprimarily for personal, family orhousehold purposes.This warranty sets forth the entireliability and obligations ofAastra Telecom with respect tobreach of warranty, and thewarranties set forth or limitedherein are the sole warranties andare in lieu of all other warranties,expressed or implied, includingwarranties or fitness for particularpurpose and merchantability.Warranty Repair ServicesShould the set fail during thewarranty period;In North America, please call1-800-574-1611 for furtherinformation.Outside North America, contactyour sales representative for returninstructions.You will be responsible forshipping charges, if any.
