Thetitle and description of each section of the manualis as follows:Section 1 - SERVICE CALL PROCEDURESThis section is used to identify a suspectedproblem. It contains Call Flow, Initial Actions, andFinal Actions. This part of the service manualshould always be used to start the service call.Section 2 - PRINTER SPECIFICATIONSThis section contains all the specifications for theP8e / P8ex printers.Section 3 - PARTS LISTSThis section contains illustrations of disassembledsubsystems and a listing of the spared parts.Part names are listed in this section of the manualeven if the part itself is not spared. All the partsthat are spared will have the part number listed.Parts that are not spared will not have a numberlisted.Section 4 - REPAIR PROCEDURESThis section contains the instructions for removal,replacement, and adjustment of the spared parts.Section 5 - GENERAL PROCEDURESThis section contains diagnostic routines, printersetup procedures, and a listing of tools andsupplies.Section 6 - WIRING DATAThis section contains illustrations of the plug/jacklocations and the routing of power and signalcables.Section 7 - REPAIR ANALYSIS PROCEDURES(RAPs)This section contains the procedures necessary torepair failures in the printer. This section alsocontains the procedures necessary totroubleshoot print quality problems.Section 8 - P8ex AddendumAll procedures and technical information in theDocuPrint P8e Service Manual apply to theDocuPrint P8ex printer with the exception of theinformation provided in the P8ex addendum. TheP8ex Addendum contains the followinginformatiom:1) A description of the PCL 6 emulation2) A description of the Universal Serial Bus(USB)3) A new Repair Procedure for the ControllerPWB, REP 4.6.3A Controller PWB (P8ex)— Accessing the Controller Board nowprovides easy access to the MemorySIMM4) P8ex Parts List.— This section contains illustrations ofdisassembled subsystems and a listingof the spared parts for the DocuPrintP8ex.
