If you experience a problem which does not seem to fall under anyof the cases listed in this table, or if you are concerned about any other aspectof printer operation, contact an authorized service representative.Problem Possible Cause RemedyIrregular fadedpatches of printThere is a paper quality problem. Use only paper that meets thespecifications required by theprinter.Toner may be unevenlydistributed.Remove the image cartridge andshake it gently to evenly distributethe toner. Then replace the imagecartridge.Black staining There is a paper quality problem. Use only paper that meets printerspecifications (refer to “SelectingPrint Media” on page 16).An image cartridge from anotherXerox printer has been installed.Always use the same imagecartridge with the same printer.Using a cartridge that has alreadybeen used in another printer maynot give satisfactory results.Character voids The paper may be too dry. Try printing with a different batchof paper.Background scatter The paper may be too damp. Try printing with a different batchof paper. Do not open packagesof paper until necessary so thatthe paper does not absorb toomuch moisture from the air.Printing over uneven surfaces. If printing onto envelopes, changeyour printing layout to avoidprinting over areas that haveoverlapping seams on the reverseside.
