Troubleshooting • 35The paper keepsjamming.There is too much paper in themultipurpose paper feeder.Remove some of the paper fromthe multipurpose paper feeder. (Ifprinting onto envelopes,transparencies or labels, insertthem one at a time in the manualfeeder.An incorrect type of paper is beingused.Use only paper that meets thespecifications required by theprinter (refer to “Selecting PrintMedia” on page 16).An incorrect output method isbeing used.Items such as thick paper shouldnot be printed using the face-down stacker. Use the face-upstacker instead.The paper setting method may beincorrect.If printing onto envelopes, insertthe envelopes so that there is agap of approximately 1 mm (1/32”) between the left edge of theenvelopes at the paper guide.Printing is too slow. If using Windows 3.1x, PrintManager may be disabled.From the Control Panel Printersmenu, check the Use PrintManager box.If using Windows 3.1x, theBackground Printing item in theOption menu of Print Managermay be set incorrectly.Select Background Printing fromthe Option menu in the PrintManager.If using Windows 95, the SpoolingSetting may be set incorrectly.From the Start menu, selectSettings and Printers.
