Selecting Print Media2-2 v User GuideSelecting Print MediaThis chapter will help you understand what kinds ofpaper and other print media you can use with yourprinter and also how to properly position the media inthe printer’s various input sources. Your printer supports avariety of standard sizes as well as custom sizes.• Table 2.1 on page 2-4 lists the standard sizes of paper,envelopes, and other print media you can use with allof your printer’s input trays and output bins. Mediasizes that are shown as not supported may be printedas custom sizes if the dimensions fall within the rangesshown in Table 2.2 on page 2-5.• Table 2.2 on page 2-5 describes the custom sizes yourprinter will support. For information on configuringcustom sizes, see the System Administrator Guide on theProduct CD.• The printer supports paper weights as follows:— 17-75 lbs. (64-200 g/m 2 ) via paper trays— 17-57 lbs. (64-190 g/m 2 ) multi bypass feeder— 17-28 lbs. (64-105 g/m 2 ) with duplex— The optional 2,000 sheet feeder supports 18-24 lbs.(68-90 g/m 2 )Using media not recommended for laser printers may result inpaper jams, print quality problems or printer damage.
