Troubleshooting System Guide9-2 Common ControllerPrinter faultAn indicator will appear on the DocuSP GUI when a printer faultoccurs and the Printer Faults window will display. The PrinterFaults window will display all existing printer faults. Select a faultto open the Fault Clearance window and proceed to clear thefault by following the instructions in the Printer Faults Clearancewindow.NOTE: Closing the Printer Faults Clearance window does notclear the fault.Job faultA job will fault if a requirement of the job can not be met. Allfaulted jobs will be displayed in the Faulted Jobs window.Selecting Jobs Faults will display the Job Fault Clearancewindow. Follow the instructions on the window to clear the jobfault. To avoid common job faults, ensure that the paper that isprogrammed for the job is available and that the finishingprogrammed is acceptable and available.Undeclared faultsThe following are possible undeclared faults that you mayencounter:• Client Problems: Client problems include job submissionproblems with no message displayed at the clientworkstation.• Graphical User Interface (GUI) problems: GUI icons orwindows do not appear correctly, do not appear correctly, donot operate correctly, or disappear suddenly.• Print quality: The output from the printer contains imagedefects such as deletions, problems with lines, missingimages, smudges, shading, or text problems.• Font problems: The output from the printer contains fontdefects, such as incorrect character spacing, jaggedcharacters, text runs off the page, or sentences run into eachother.
