Slide theselector switch to the REMOTE posi-tion.Note: The burners may light ifhand-held remote ON button was onwhen selector switch was last turnedoff. You can now turn the burners onand off with either optional hand-heldremote control unit.IMPORTANT: Do not leave the se-lector switch in the REMOTE posi-tion when the pilot is not lit. To increase the room tem-perature, press the top arrow of theTEMP button. To lower the roomtemperature, press the bottom ar-row of the TEMP button. At highersettings the heater will run more.IMPORTANT: This remote controlhas been specially engineered to takean air temperature sample every 5.5minutes in auto mode. It will not re-spond immediately to the tempera-ture setting being turned up or down.IMPORTANT: The hand-held remotecontrol unit must be near the heaterbut not extremely close to it. Thethermostat on the hand-held remotecontrol unit will heat up too quicklyand turn the heater off.3. Use the STATUS button on the hand-held remote control unit to see theoperation mode being used and thetemperature setting selected. A redlight will come on beside the opera-tion mode being used.4. To turn the burners off when operat-ing in the manual mode, press the OFFbutton. If operating in the auto mode,press the MAN button, then press theOFF button.
