REPLACING TIRES AND REPAIRINGFLAT TIRECAUTIONBefore removing a tire from the rim, remove•the valve core to release the air pressure fromthe tire completely. In the case of the split typerim, remove air from the tire before looseningthe split rim connecting bolt B ; in the case ofthe side ring type rim, remove air from the tirebefore removing the side ring (lock ring).The assembling of a tire, tube, rim, and flap•and inflating of a tire which has been removedfrom the truck should be done only by qualifiedpersonnel. The lift truck uses tires which havean inflation pressure far higher than those ofgeneral passenger cars. The use of improperparts or work procedure will cause a seriousaccident. Tires should be inflated with themattached to the truck or by putting in a safetycage, even if you are qualified to inflate tires.The split rim connecting bolts must be•tightened to the specified torque using thespecial tool, with the tire inflation pressureremoved completely.Install the split rim tire on the truck with the rim•connecting bolt head pointing outside.Replace any deformed or damaged rim or tire•with a new one.Get tools and jack necessary for replacing tires.4-26PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
