54Chapter 8: Troubleshooting• If you are not receiving a second audio programfrom a known SAP source, make sure the MTSfeature is set to SAP mode ( page 38).• If you hear audio that seems “incorrect” for theprogram you are watching (such as music or aforeign language), the SAP mode may be on. Set theMTS feature to Stereo mode ( page 38).Remote control problems• Remove all obstructions between the remote controland the TV.• The remote control batteries may be dead. Replacethe batteries ( page 20).• If the TV still does not act as expected, use theReset Factory Defaults procedure ( page 28).Channel tuning problems• The channel may have been erased from the channelmemory by the Programming channelsautomatically feature. Add the channel to thechannel memory ( page 32).• The channel may be blocked by the LOCK feature.Unblock the channel ( page 42).• If you are unable to tune digital channels, check theantenna configuration ( page 24). If you are stillunable to tune digital channels, clear all channelsfrom the channel list and reprogram channels intothe channel memory ( page 24). If you are stillunable to tune digital channels, use the ResetFactory Defaults procedure ( page 28). Also see"TV stops responding to controls" and "Otherproblems" ( page 53).Closed caption problems• If the program or video you selected is not closed-captioned, no captions will display ( page 37).• If text is not available, a black rectangle may appear.If this happens, turn off the closed caption feature( page 37).• A closed-caption signal may not display correctly inthe following situations: a) when a videotape hasbeen dubbed; b) when the signal reception is weak;or c) when the signal reception is nonstandard (page 37).Rating blocking (V-Chip) problems• If you forget your PIN code: While the PIN codeentering screen is displayed, press four timeswithin 5 seconds. The PIN code you previouslystored will be cleared ( page 40).No REGZA-LINK operation• The REGZA-LINK feature is available for ToshibaREGZA-LINK compatible devices.• Make sure the HDMI cables with the HDMI Logo( ) are used.• When the connected REGZA-LINK device does notwork correctly after you have changed settings ofthe device, turn off your TV and unplug the powercord, then plug and turn on again.• If several devices are connected, REGZA-LINKfeature may not operate properly.• Read the instruction manual furnished with theconnected REGZA-LINK device.HDMI problemsFor HDMI cablesMake sure to use cables with the HDMI Logo( ) ( page 13).Media Player problems• Make sure that devices are connected correctly.• Incorrect behavior may occur with a USB HUBconnection.• Photo files that have been processed by PC photoediting software may not be correctly viewed.• The TV may select one format automatically andplay it when contents that support two or moreformats are played.• Confirm contents of the USB storage device areformats that correspond with this TV ( page 44).
