Changing the Backrest PositionThe back of the seat can be adjusted to provide a morecomfortable ride. Position the back of the seat where it ismost comfortable.Pull up the locking lever to release the backrest catch (Figure31). When releasing the backrest catch, do not apply load tothe backrest by pressing against it.By exerting pressure on or off the front or rear of the seat itcan be moved to the desired position. Release the lockinglever to lock the backrest.Note: The backrest should not be able to move the intoanother position after it has been locked.Raising/Lowering the SeatTo access the hydraulic and other systems under the seat, youneed to unlatch the seat and swing it forward.1. Move the seat latch, located on the left side of the seat, rearward to unlatch the seat and pull forward on thetop of the seat (Figure 32).Figure 321. Seat latch2. To lower the seat, pull up on the seat latch release barand lower the seat into the locked position.Figure 331. Seat latch release barPushing the Machine by HandIf the machine stalls, runs out of fuel, etc. you may need topush it. To do so, you first need to open both of the hydraulicby-pass valves.Important: Always push the machine by hand andnever a long distance. Never tow the machine becausehydraulic damage may occur.Pushing the Machine1. Disengage the power take off (PTO), turn the ignitionkey to off and apply the parking brake.2. Remove the key from the ignition switch. Bothby-pass valves must be opened.3. Lift the seat.4. Rotate each by-pass valve counterclockwise 1 turn(Figure 34).This allows hydraulic fluid to by-pass the pumpenabling the wheels to turn.Important: Do not rotate the by-pass valves morethan 1 turn. This prevents valves from coming outof the body and causing fluid to run out.5. Disengage the parking brake before pushing.Changing to Machine OperationRotate each by-pass valve clockwise 1 turn and hand tightenthem (torque of approximately 8 N-m [71 in-lb]) (Figure 34).Note: Do not over tighten the by-pass valves. The machine will not drive unless the by-pass valves areturned in.32
