Engine MaintenanceServicing the Air CleanerService Interval: Every 200 hours—Replace theprimary air filter.Every 600 hours—Replace the safetyair filter.Note: Service the air cleaner more frequently ifoperating conditions are extremely dusty or sandy.Replacing the Filters1. Lower the loader arms, stop the engine, and removethe key.2. Open the hood.3. Latches3. Primary filter 6. Dust cap4. Squeeze the dust cap sides to open it and knock thedust out.5. Clean the inside of the air cleaner cover withcompressed air.6. Gently slide the primary filter out of the air cleanerbody (Figure 30). Avoid knocking the filter into theside of the body.Important: Do not attempt to clean the primaryfilter.7. Remove the safety filter only if you intend to replaceit.Important: Never attempt to clean the safetyfilter. If the safety filter is dirty, then the primaryfilter is damaged and you should replace bothfilters.8. Inspect the new filter(s) for damage by looking intothe filter while shining a bright light on the outsideof the filter. Holes in the filter will appear as brightspots. Inspect the element for tears, an oily film, ordamage to the rubber seal. If the filter is damageddo not use it.9. If you are replacing the safety filter, carefully slidethe new filter into the filter body (Figure 30).Important: To prevent engine damage, alwaysoperate the engine with both air filters and coverinstalled.10. Carefully slide the primary filter over the safety filter(Figure 30). Ensure that it is fully seated by pushingon the outer rim of the filter while installing it.Important: Do not press on the soft inside areaof the filter.11. Install the air cleaner cover with the side indicated asUP facing up and secure the latches (Figure 30).12. Close the hood.Servicing the Engine OilService Interval: After the first 50 hoursEvery 100 hours—Change the engineoil.Every 200 hours—Change the oilfilter.Note: Change oil and filter more frequently whenoperating conditions are extremely dusty or sandy.Oil Type: Detergent oil (API service SG, SH, SJ, orhigher)Crankcase Capacity: w/filter, 2.1 qt.
