Formore information on setting up VST’svery sophisticated MIDI functions,please refer to the VST manual.Connect your audio sources to the US-122. Connect an analog source via theXLR or 1/4” inputs.Recording Your TracksIn Cubasis, choose the input(s) you wishto enable on the US-122. In the Audiomenu, select Input, and click on the inputpair on the US-122. The green Inputicons will light in VST’s Input windowfor active inputs.Select the Audio track(s) to record to byhighlighting that track in the Arrangewindow.NOTEIf this is the first track recorded in a givenproject, Cubasis will probably respond witha dialog box asking you for a path to savethe audio files. It is highly recommendedthat you create a unique folder for eachsong or project, as audio.WAV files canaccumulate very quickly on your hard disk,and keeping them organized can get prettycomplicated.Once you’ve enabled your tracks, you’llwant to monitor audio through them toset your levels. Open Cubasis’ MonitorMixer (Audio/Monitor menu), and makecertain you’ve assigned your channelinputs and enabled them. You should seeaudio signal on those channels’ meters(assuming you’re sending signal fromyour source).If your input signal is too high, the OLLED will glow steadily red. If the signallevel is too low, you might only see aflicker, or nothing at all, on the SIGNALLED.You can regulate the input level of theinput source in several ways. First, makesure that the signal you’re sending to theUS-122 is within a reasonable range - itshould illuminate the green SIGNALLED, but the red OL LED should onlyflicker occasionally. You can then fineadjust the level with the input level con-trols for the selected channel(s).On Cubasis’ Transport Bar, you canenable the recording to drop in or out ofRecord based on the locate points you’veset. If you do not wish to enable thisfunction, make certain the buttons fordrop in and drop out are not enabled.Press the RECORD button on the screen.If you’ve got the metronome’s Count-offfunction enabled, you’ll hear a one ortwo bar countoff, and then the programwill enter Record mode. It will stoprecording when it reaches the drop outpoint, or if none is enabled, when you hitthe STOP button.Cubasis will now create a display of thetrack(s) you’ve just recorded. This cantake a few seconds to a few minutes,depending on how long the recordedtracks are and how many there are.You’ll then see the tracks appear in yourarrange window.
