32 PBD-51041048SITRANS LG250 - Operating Instructions44277-EN-200212• Vessel internals such as strutsNote:A false signal suppression detects, marks and saves these falsesignals so that they are no longer taken into account for the level andinterface measurement. We generally recommend carrying out a falsesignal suppression to achieve the best possible accuracy. This shouldbe done with the lowest possible level so that all potential interferingreflections can be detected.Proceed as follows:Select first if the probe is covered or uncovered. If the probe is covered, enter the actual distance from the sensor tothe product surface. All interfering signals in this section are detected by the sensor andstored.Keep in mind that with covered probe only false signals in the uncov-ered area of the probe are detected.Note:Check the distance to the product surface, because if an incorrect(too large) value is entered, the existing level will be saved as a falsesignal. The level would then no longer be detectable in this area.If a false signal suppression has already been created in the sensor, the following menu window appears when selecting "False signalsuppression":The instrument carries out an automatic false signal suppressionas soon as the probe is uncovered. The false signal suppression isalways updated. The menu item "Delete" is used to completely delete an already cre-ated false signal suppression. This is useful if the saved false signalsuppression no longer matches the metrological conditions in thevessel. In the menu item "Lock/unlock adjustment", you can protect the sen-sor parameters against unauthorized or inadvertent modification. ThePIN is activated/deactivated permanently.Lock/Unlock adjustment
