Safety information2.6 Electrostatic sensitive devices (ESD)Synchronous/induction motors 1PH813Operating Instructions, 04/2009, 610.48000.22 152.6 Electrostatic sensitive devices (ESD)ESD guidelinesCAUTIONElectrostatic dischargeElectronic modules contain components that can be destroyed by electrostatic discharge.These modules can be easily destroyed by improper handling.To protect your equipment against damage, follow the instructions given below.● Never touch electronic modules unless absolutely necessary in the course ofmaintenance and repair procedures.● If the modules have to be touched, the body of the person concerned must beelectrostatically discharged immediately beforehand and be grounded.● Electronic modules should not come into contact with electrically insulating materials (e.g.plastic foil, plastic parts, insulating table supports, or clothing made of synthetic fibers).● Always place the modules on conductive bases.● Always store and transport electronic modules or components in conductive packaging(e.g. metallized plastic or metal containers).CAUTIONUse conductive packaging materialElectronic modules must be stored, transported, and dispatched in conductivepackaging.Electronic modules that are not correctly stored, transported, or dispatched can bedamaged.Pack electronic modules in appropriate conductive packaging (e.g. foam rubber oraluminum foil).The necessary ESD protective measures for electrostatically sensitive devices are illustratedonce again in the following drawings:
