Manufactured to a high standard, this product will, if used according to theseinstructions, and properly maintained, give you years of trouble free performance.IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY CAUSE DAMAGE AND/ORPERSONAL INJURY AND WILL INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY. KEEP THESE INSTRUCTIONS SAFE FOR FUTURE USE.1. SAFETY1.1. These insulating gloves are to be used exclusively for electrical purposes by suitably trained and competent persons in accordance withyour company’s safe methods of working practice, and these instructions for use.1.2. The gloves are to be part of a safe system of work and should not be the only protection against electrical risk.1.3. The date shown on the electrician’s glove is the date of manufacture, this product must be stored in dry cool conditions in the storagebag provided without any contact from direct sunlight. The gloves must be visually examined for damage, and have a leak test performedbefore each use, the Sealey Model No. GT117 is suitable for this test.1.4. Care should be taken to avoid any sharp objects which may cut, damage or penetrate the gloves.1.5. The gloves should not be unnecessarily exposed to heat or light, or allowed to come in contact with chemicals, oil, grease, conductivegrease, turpentine, white spirit or strong acid.2. INTRODUCTIONHigh voltage electrician’s gloves suitable for use on hybrid and electric vehicles. Grade 0 gloves suitable for working on systems up to 1kVAC in accordance with EN 60903.3. Prior to every use, the gloves must be visually inspected by a competent person. Check for damage such as cracks, tears, smallpinholes, and any contamination that might affect the dielectric characteristics.4.2. If the glove is damaged, contaminated, or thought to be unsafe it must not be used.4.3. If the physical appearance of the glove is satisfactory, an air test must be performed before use.4.4. The air test is achieved by folding the cuff area over and rolling the glove up and trapping air inside. Grip the cuff area to prevent airescaping and squeeze the glove. Any deflation detected may indicate damage or pinholes being present and the glove must not be used.5. USAGE5.1. The gloves must be completely dry when used.5.2. Electrical work must be carried out indoors and in dry conditions.5.3. It is strongly advised to provide an exclusion zone around the working area at a minimum distance of 1.5 metres.5.4. These gloves should be used in conjunction with an insulating mat such as Sealey Model No. HVM17K02.5.5. Jewellery may present a puncture hazard therefore all jewellery (rings, watch, bracelets etc.) should be removed before wearing thegloves.6. CLEANING6.1. If the gloves become soiled, they should be cleaned as soon as possible with a suitable solvent for the contaminant, if appropriate,or washed with soap and water at a temperature not exceeding 65°C, and thoroughly dried.6.2. If insulating compounds, such as tar and paint stick to the gloves, the affected area should be wiped immediately with a suitablesolvent, avoiding excessive solvent use, and then immediately washed and treated as described above. WARNING: Petrol, paraffin, turpentine or white spirit should not be used to remove such compounds.7. STORAGE7.1. The gloves are delivered in a plastic bag which is suitable for transportation. The gloves must be stored in a dry and dark place atambient temperature of between 10°C and 21°C.8 DO NOT store in proximity to steam pipes, radiators or other sources of heat.8 DO NOT store in direct sunlight, artificial light or sources of ozone.7.2.
