SOLVING PROBLEMS 7.37Solving General Printing ProblemsFor problems with the operation of your printer, refer to the tablefor suggested solutions.Problem Possible Cause SolutionThe printer doesnot print.The printer is notreceiving power.Check the power cord connections. Checkthe power switch and the power source.The printer is notselected as the defaultprinter.Select Samsung ML-2550 Series orSamsung ML-2550 Series PS as yourdefault printer.Check the printer forthe following:• The printer cover is not closed.• Paper is jammed.• No paper is loaded.• The toner cartridge is not installed.If a printer system error occurs, contactyour service representative.The printer may be inmanual feed mode andout of paper.Check the display message, add paper tothe Multi-Purpose Tray and press theOn Line/Continue button on the printer’scontrol panel.The connection cablebetween the computerand the printer is notconnected properly.Disconnect the printer cable and reconnectit.The connection cablebetween the computerand the printer isdefective.If possible, attach the cable to anothercomputer that is working properly and printa job. You can also try using a differentprinter cable.The port setting isincorrect.Check the Windows printer setting to makesure that the print job is sent to the correctport, for example, LPT1. If the computerhas more than one port, make sure that theprinter is attached to the correct one.The printer may beconfigured incorrectly.Check the printer properties to ensure thatall of the print settings are correct.
