A Wi-Fi device, such as a personalcomputer, video game console, smartphone, or digital audioplayer can connect to the Internet via a wireless networkaccess point. The Wi-Fi HotSpot has a range of about45 meters (150 feet) indoors and a greater range outdoors.Multiple overlapping access points can cover large areas.• Network Name (SSID): Displays the network name. Click ortouch the field to enter a network ID.• Security: Security provides different types of security protocols.The protocols encrypt the data that is going between two points.Click or touch the drop down menu to select a protocol. Protocolsare listed from least secure to most secure.• Password: Displays the current network password. Click or touchthe field and enter a new password to password-protect accessto your network. WPA2 provides the highest level of Wi-Fisecurity, but older Wi-Fi-enabled devices may not support WPAsecurity. WEP security is supported by virtually all Wi-Fi-enableddevices.• Broadcast Channel: Click or touch Auto for the HotSpot toautomatically choose the best available channel. Click or touchthe drop down menu to select a specific channel. Make thisselection for either the 2.4 GHz or 5GHz bands.• Broadcast SSID enable: Click or touch to enable. Whenprompted, select OK to complete the section.– When enabled, other devices will see the Wi-Fi network accesspoint name in the list of available wireless networks.– When disabled, other devices will not see the Wi-Fi networkaccess point name in the list of available wireless networks.Wi-Fi Configuration Buttons• Apply: Select to update the settings and apply them.• Reset: Select to revert the settings to their previous values.
