21English03 Basic Features■ Signal Information: (digital channels only) HDTVchannel’s reception quality is either perfect or thechannels are unavailable. Adjust your antenna toincrease signal strength.■ Troubleshooting: If the TV seems to have a problem,refer to this description.✎ If none of these troubleshooting tips apply, contactthe Samsung customer service centre.Software UpgradeSoftware Upgrade can be performed via a broadcastingsignal or downloading the latest firmware from samsung.comto a USB memory device.Current Version the software already installed in the TV.✎ Software is represented as “Year/Month/Day_Version”.Installing the Latest Version■ By USB: Insert a USB drivecontaining the firmwareupgrade file, downloadedfrom “www.samsung.com,” into the TV. Pleasebe careful not to disconnectthe power or remove theUSB drive until upgrades are complete. The TV will beturned off and on automatically after completing thefirmware upgrade. When software is upgraded, videoand audio settings you have made will return to theirdefault settings. We advise you to to write down yoursettings so that you can easily reset them after theupgrade.■ By Channel: Upgrade the software using thebroadcasting signal.✎ If the function is selected during the softwaretransmission period, software will be automaticallysearched and downloaded.✎ The time required to download the software isdetermined by the signal status.■ Standby Mode Upgrade: A manual upgrade will beautomatically performed at selected time. Since thepower of the unit is turned on internally, the screenmay be turned on slightly for the LCD product. Thisphenomenon may continue for more than 1 hour untilthe software upgrade is complete.■ Alternative Software (backup): If there is an issue withthe new firmware and it is affecting operation, you canchange the software to the previous version.✎ If the software was changed, existing software isdisplayed.HD Connection GuideRefer to this information when connecting external devicesto the TV.Contact SamsungView this information when your TV does not work properlyor when you want to upgrade the software.
