You must place the switch in the diagnostics state using theSet Switch State command before starting the test. There are two types of offlinetest: internal loopback and external loopback. An internal loopback test exercises all internal port connections. An external loopback test exercises all internal port and transceiverconnections. A transceiver with a loopback plug is required for all ports.The following example performs an offline internal loopback test on a switch:SANbox #> admin startSANbox (admin) #>set switch state diagnosticsSANbox (admin) #> test switch offline internalA list of attributes with formatting and current values will follow.
