13Hard Disk Drive ManagementThe following descriptions are of how to mount or format the hard disk drive, and of how to recover data on the disk(only when using in the mirroring mode).Mount the hard disk driveMount the hard disk drive as follows.z Insert the hard disk drive from the connectorside of the hard disk drive into the emptyHDD bay slot.x Hold down the USE button respective to theHDD bay slot to which the hard disk drive isto be inserted for 2 seconds or more.→ The mounting process will start. (The buzzerwill start sounding and the corresponding USEbutton will start blinking orange.)When completing the mounting process, theUSE button will light or blink green to indicatewhether the mounted hard disk drive is format-ted. When being lit green, the mounted harddisk drive is formatted. When blinking green,the mounted hard disk drive is unformatted.Remove the hard disk driveRemove the hard disk drive from the unit as follows.z Open the front cover and confirm that boththe USE buttons are being lit green(indicating that two hard disk drives aremounted).x Hold down the USE button respective to theHDD bay slot from which the hard disk driveis to be removed for 2 seconds or more.→ The shutdown (unmount) process will start.(The corresponding USE button will start blink-ing orange.)When completing the shutdown process, theUSE button will go off.Remove the hard disk drive after confirmingthat the USE button is not being lit nor blinking.Note:Refer to page 11 for further information about the status of the hard disk drive indicated by the USE button.HDD bay slotUSE button (with the indicator)HDD1HDD2FORMATUSEUSE FORMATUSE button (with the indicator)HDD1HDD2FORMATUSEUSE FORMAT
