12Important:• Only the mounted hard disk drives can be formatted when operating in the mirroring mode. It is impossible to for-mat an unmounted hard disk drive or a hard disk drive that is in the process of mounting.• When the USE button is not blinking green (neither off nor blinking orange), the corresponding hard disk drive isalready formatted. When the hard disk drive is formatted, all data on the disk will be erased.• The hard disk drive for which the write protection is on cannot be formatted.• When the following operation is being performed, it is impossible to switch the operational mode from the singlemode to the mirroring mode.• SD memory data obtainment• Auto camera registration ("Quick" – "Camera Auto Registration")• Camera search ("Camera" – "Camera Search")• When formatting the hard disk drives in the mirroring mode, connection to the FTP server and sending mails areunavailable.• When using in the mirroring mode, the actual available size of the hard disk drive will be smaller than when usingin the single mode.Switch the operational mode from the mirroring mode to thesingle modeTo change the operational mode from the mirroring mode to the single mode, do the following.z Open the front cover and confirm that boththe USE buttons are off (indicating that nohard disk drive is mounted).Note:Refer to page 13 for how to remove the hard diskdrive.x Hold down the both FORMAT buttons for 5seconds or more.Switching the operational mode from the mirror-ing mode to the single mode will start.
