14The widescreen TV will allow you to enjoy viewing the picture at its optimum size and aspect,including widescreen ‘cinema format’ pictures.Press the ASPECT button repeatedly to movethrough the seven aspect options: AutoAspect, 16:9, 14:9, 4:3, Zoom1, Zoom2 andZoom3.ORPress the ASPECT button then use the REDor GREEN buttons to move in either directionthrough the seven aspect options.Auto AspectAuto Aspect determines the best aspect ratioto use to fill your screen. It does this using a fourstep process to determine if the picture beingviewed is a widescreen picture.If Auto Aspect detects a widescreen signal itswitches into the appropriate 16:9 or 14:9widescreen mode. If Auto Aspect does notdetect a widescreen signal then this advancedTV set enhances the picture for optimumviewing pleasure.The text shown on the screen indicates howAuto Aspect determined which ratio to use:’WIDE’ appears in the top left of the screen if awidescreeen identification signal (WSS) isfound or a signal found through a Scart socket.Auto Aspect switches to the appropriate 16:9or 14:9 widescreen ratio’Panasonic Auto’ appears in the top left of thescreen if black stripes above and below thepicture are detected. Auto Aspect choosesthe best ratio and expands the picture to fill thescreen. This process can take several minutes,depending on the darkness of the picture.You may prefer to manually select one of theother aspect options available to view thepicture.Notes:D If, in Auto Aspect mode, you experienceproblems with the screen display size whenplaying back widescreen format recordingsfrom your VCR then it is possible that thetracking control of your VCR requiresadjustment (your VCR instruction book willcontain adjustment details).D The widescreen aspect ratios of differentfilms and programmes can vary.
