Convenient functionsVQT3C8486Software (Firmware) UpdateSoftware of this unit can be updated automatically by thefollowing methods at the specified time.(Default setting is 3 a.m. > 85, Software Update in Standby)– From broadcasts– From Internet§≥To update the Software (Firmware) immediately, usethe following function:– Software Update Now ( Broadcast ) (> 85)Software of this unit will be updated from broadcasts ifupdate information is detected.– Software Update Now ( Internet )§ (> 85)Software of this unit will be updated from Internet ifupdate information is detected.§ Network connection and setting are required. (> 14,21)∫ If a software (firmware) update isavailable, a notification is displayed.≥It is displayed on the channel information (> 25) whenthe Software (Firmware) can be updated immediately.To execute, push the “Red” button while the channelinformation is displayed, and follow the instructions onthe screen.≥Update of the software (firmware) will start when the unit isturned to standby mode.∫ The unit’s display during the updatee.g.,≥When “FINISH” is displayed, update of the software(firmware) has completed.≥ The time it takes to update depends on the connection.– From broadcast: About 2 hours– From Internet: About 1 hour≥ The download time depends on the network or broadcast environment.≥ If the timer recording is scheduled within the following time at the start ofthe download, the download will not be executed.– From broadcast: Within 4 hours– From Internet: Within 1 hour≥ You can also download the latest software (firmware) from the followingwebsite and burn it to a CD-R to update the software (firmware).http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/≥ If you do not want to perform the software (firmware) update, set the“Software Update in Standby” to “Off”.
