RS Series Operator Manual457 Appendix A:Floating Vendor FunctionIn FV (Floating Vendor) mode, all scales in the network will share the data in the master scale. You may dobusiness on anyone scale like all scales in the network as one scale, so the ticket can be printed on any scales.1. How to set a FV networkThe scale should have an Ethernet port. If only 2 scales connect with each other, you may use a cross cable tojoin them together. If there are at least 3 scales in the network, one hub will be needed for a FV network.Configured by Cross CableDevice RequirementsTwo scales are able to make a FV network by using a cross cable, see device list as below:FV Function Devices List (Cross Cable)1 RS Series with the Ethernet Port 2 Units2 Cross Cable * 1 Piece* Pay attention please: there are two types of the Net Cable, the one is direct cable, and another is cross cable. Please check thecable type before you connect with two scales.Devices SetupPut one head of the cross cable into the Ethernet Port of one RS Series, which we name Scale A and then putanother head into the Ethernet Port of another RS Series, which we call Scale B.Software Set upThere are two parts of the software setup, the one inputs scale IP in the function 702, and the other builds up therelationship of FV Network in function 703.IP Configure(702)IP configure in 702Procedure Operation Description1 [Mode],[1],[888888],[*] Access to the Setting Mode2 [Mode],[702],[*] Access to Function 7023 [*],[172030007200],[*] Configure the Scale IP as172.30.7.2004 [255255248000],[ *] Configure the Net Mask5 [*],[*],[*] Finish the ProcedureHUBWorkstationRS Surf
