MB90 EN-113.6 Switching the Moisture Analyzer on and offYour Moisture Analyzer is on at all times when connected to a power source. The display can beturned on or off.To switch the Moisture Analyzer on, press theOn/Off button. An internal diagnostic test isperformed; the display lights and the Home screenappears followed by the initial display.To switch the Moisture Analyzer off, press theOn/Off button. After the analyzer has been switchedoff, it is in the standby mode. If you wish to perform atest, press the On/Off button again.Note:As your Moisture Analyzer needs no warm-up timewhen in the standby mode and is immediately readyfor testing samples, we advise you to switch thedisplay off by use of the On/Off button and not todisconnect it from the power supply. This also ensuresthat the Moisture Analyzer is always in thermalequilibrium.4. MAKING A SIMPLE MEASUREMENTWith your Moisture Analyzer powered on, you are ready to operate for the first time andperform a simple measurement. For this simple test, you will enter the Default method andenable the test. By doing this test, you will become familiar with the instrument.Included with your Moisture Analyzer is a specimen sample for your first measurement. Thissample is an absorbent glass fiber pad. During your first measurement, the instrumentoperates with the factory settings.If the display is not visible and the unit is plugged into apower source, press the On/Off button.Directly start a measurement.Open the cover on the Moisture Analyzer.Clean the pan.Place the pan handler in the sample chamber. Ensurethat the tongue of the pan handler fits exactly in the slotof the draft shield element.Place the empty sample pan and glass fiber pan in thepan handler. The sample pan must lie flat in the panhandler.Attention: It is advisable for you to work with the panhandler at all times. The pan handler is ergonomic, safeand provides protection against possible burns due to ahot sample pan.Close the cover. This sets the Moisture Analyzer to zeroautomatically.
