EN-4 EB SERIES2.5 Connecting Power2.5.1 AC PowerVerfy that the ntended AC power source matches the AC adapter ratng. Connect thesuppled AC adapter to the power nput receptacle underneath the scale. Plug the ACadapter nto a properly grounded power outlet.2.5.2 Battery PowerThe battery wll begn chargng wth the AC adapter connected accordngly. An LEDndcator below and to the rght of the dsplay shows the status of battery chargng:• Green – battery s fully charged• Yellow – battery s partally charged and chargng• Red – battery s nearly dschargedWhen AC power s not avalable, the scale wll operate on the nternal rechargeablebattery. The scale wll automatcally swtch to battery operaton f there s a powerfalure or the power cord s removed. Low battery charge s ndcated by the lowbattery annuncator on the dsplay (the scale wll operate for approxmately 10 hoursmore before automatcally swtchng off).Before usng the scale for the frst tme, the nternal rechargeable battery should befully charged for up to 12 hours. A fully charged battery can operate the scale forapproxmately 80 hours ndependent of AC power. The scale can be operated durngthe chargng process. The battery s protected aganst overchargng and the scale canreman connected to the AC power lne.NOTES:• The battery must be recharged every 3 months f the scale s not usedfor a long tme.• Replace the battery f t does not charge or hold a full charge.• Dspose of the lead acd battery accordng to local laws and regulatons.CAUTIONBATTERY IS TO BE REPLACED ONLY BY AN AUTHORIZED SERVICEDEALER.
