Note: When the computer is turned on for the first time after replacing the coin-cell battery, an errormessage might be displayed. This is normal after replacing the coin-cell battery.8. See “Using the Setup Utilityprogram” on page 57.Replacing the memory moduleAttention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter1 “Read this first: Important safety information” on page 1.To replace the memory module, do the following:1. Remove any media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to thecomputer.2. Remove the computer cover. See “Removing the computer cover” on page 82.3. Locate the memory module. See “Computer components” on page 31.4. Open the retaining clips and gently pull the memory module out of the memory slot.Figure34. Removing the memory module5. Insert the notched end 2 of the new memory module into the slot 1 . Press the memory modulefirmly and pivot the memory module until it snaps into place.
