Sharing OverviewYour px4-300d Network Storage is set up for storing, retrieving, and accessing files among users, clientcomputers, and applications.File sharing is accomplished by creating Shares; setting up security, which includes creatingusers; setting up media services; and configuring Active Folders.Interfaces for SharingYour px4-300d has three separate interfaces for file sharing:● px4-300d Management ConsoleYou manage the creation of Shares through the px4-300d Management Console.● LenovoEMC Storage ManagerOptionally installed on your local computer, LenovoEMC Storage Manager discovers anyLifeLine-based network storage devices on your subnet, maps device Shares to computers, andprovides local access to your content. It provides access to Shares through your computer's filemanagement program, such as Windows Explorer or Mac Finder, allowing you to drag and dropmany files between your computer and your px4-300d device. Installing LenovoEMC StorageManager is optional.● Home PageThe Home page serves as a web-accessible interface to your px4-300d device. The Home pagecontent is configured using the px4-300d Management Console. The Home page displays anyunsecured Shares. It can also display secured Shares accessible only to users who log in to thepx4-300d device. You can access the Home page of your px4-300d device by entering the devicename or IP address directly in your browser.
