b. Insert the tabs 1 of the socket cover into the hinged side of the socket,and then press the other side of the socket cover downward until the tabs2 snap into position.12. Install the new system board into the chassis by aligning the four mountingstuds in the chassis with the corresponding holes on the new system board,and then carefully slide the new system board in to the chassis until it issecured in place by the four mounting studs.13. Install the heat sink and fan assembly retainer by aligning the four screwholes on the retainer with the corresponding holes on the new system board,and then tighten the screws to secure the retainer on the new system board.14. Install the heat sink and fan assembly on the new system board. See“Replacing the heat sink and fan assembly” on page 142. And connect theheat sink and fan assembly cable to the new system board. See “Locatingparts on the system board” on page 129.15. Install all memory modules and adapter cards removed from the failingsystem board on the new system board.16. Reinstall the hard disk drive. See “Replacing the hard disk drive” on page136.17. Reconnect the power and signal cables to the hard disk drive.18. Reconnect all remaining cables to the new system board.
