Appendix B: Verification and adjustment Series 3700A System Switch/Multimeter Reference ManualB-20 3700AS-901-01 Rev. D/June 20184-wire short applied verification dataUse the following values to verify the performance of the Series 3700A. Actual values depend onpublished specifications (see Calculating resistance reading limits (on page B-4)).4-wire short appliedDescription Range (V) Test point (V) Lower limit (V) Upper limit (V)Verify zero values at 100 mVDC 1.00E-01 0.00E+00 -9.000000E-07 9.000000E-07Verify zero values at 1 VDC 1.00E+00 0.00E+00 -2.000000E-06 2.000000E-06Description Range(Ohms)Test point(Ohms)Lower limit(Ohms)Upper limit(Ohms)Verify zero values at 1 Ω* 1.00E+00 0.00E+00 -8.000000E-05 8.000000E-05Verify zero values at 10 Ω* 1.00E+01 0.00E+00 -9.000000E-05 9.000000E-05The asterisk (*) designates the ranges that offset compensation is being used. This completes the verification procedure.AdjustmentUse the procedures in this section to adjust the Keithley Instruments Series 3700A SystemSwitch/Multimeter.The information in this section is intended for qualified service personnel only, as describedby the types of product users in the Safety precautions. Do not attempt these proceduresunless you are qualified to do so.Some of these procedures may expose you to hazardous voltages, that if contacted, couldcause personal injury or death. Use appropriate safety precautions when working withhazardous voltages. For the plug-in modules, the maximum common-mode voltage (voltage between any plug-inmodule terminal and chassis ground) is 300 VDC or 300 VRMS. Exceeding this value maycause a breakdown in insulation, creating a shock hazard. All procedures in this section require accurate equipment adjustment to supply precise DC and ACvoltages, DC and AC currents, and resistance values. Adjustment can be performed any time by anoperator using the remote commands sent either over the IEEE-488 bus or ethernet. DC-only or AC-only adjustment may also be performed individually.
