99Sound equalization / Additional informationAdditional InformationGeneral• There is a time limit for some operations.In this case, if no further operation is donefor a certain period, the current operation iscanceled.• By pressing SRC or MAP on the unit, youcan also turn on the power. The map screenis displayed at turn-on if you press MAP, andan AV screen if you press SRC. If the source isready, playback starts.• You cannot select some sources if they are notready.– DAB/CD-CH/iPod/D. PLAYER: cannotbe selected without connecting the targetsource component.– DISC: cannot be selected if a disc is not inthe loading slot.– EXT-IN: cannot be selected withoutselecting Ext Input for the ExternalInput setting. (☞ [94])– Bluetooth Audio: cannot be selected if aBluetooth adapter is not connected.• If you turn off the power while DISC isselected as the source, disc play will startautomatically next time you turn on thepower.• The voltage and the speed on the vehicleinformation screen may be different from theactual values.Listening to the radioStoring stations in memory• When SSM is over, all previously storedstations are erased and stations are storednewly.• When SSM is over, received stations arepreset in No. 1 (lowest frequency) to No. 6(highest frequency), and preset station No. 1is tuned in.• When storing a station manually, a previouslypreset station is erased when a new station isstored in the same preset number.RDS operations• TA Standby Reception and PTY StandbyReception will be cancelled temporarily in thefollowing cases:– While recording a CD into the HDD.– While copying the disc contents into theHDD.– While editing the HDD contents.• If you want to know more about RDS, visit.DAB operations• Only the primary DAB service can be preseteven when you store a secondary service.Disc operationsGeneral• In this manual, words “track” and “file” areinterchangeably used.• This unit can also play back 8 cm discs.• This unit can only play back audio CD(CD-DA) files if different type of files arerecorded in the same disc.• On some discs, the actual operations maybe different from what is explained in thismanual.• This unit can display only one-bytecharacters. No other characters can becorrectly displayed.• Reverse search stops automatically when itreaches the beginning of the disc. Playbackresumes at normal speed.• No sound comes out during slow motionplayback. When playing a VCD, reverse slowmotion playback is prohibited.• When playing a DVD/VCD, no sound comesout during Search.• For some DVDs and VCDs, changing thesubtitle language, audio language (or audiochannel) without using the disc menu isprohibited.
