EN 105RECORDINGINITIALIZINGSYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION1. The desired program cannot berecorded.● The channel position does notcorrespond to that in the receiving area.Set the correct channel position for thereceiving broadcast. ( pg. 26)2. Recording and editing cannot bemade.● No disc or a disc not being compatiblewith the unit is loaded.Load a recordable disc on the unit.( pg. 7)● The disc loaded is not formatted. Format the disc. ( pg. 101)● A finalized DVD-R disc is loaded. Recording and editing cannot be made onfinalized discs. ( pg. 102) Load arecordable disc on the unit.● The disc is full or does not have enoughspace for the program to be recorded.Clear unnecessary programs on the disc orload a blank disc. ( pg. 77)● The protect tab on the DVD-RAMcartridge is set to the protect position.Release the protect tab. ( pg. 11)3. Timer programing cannot be made. ● Date and time is not correct. Malfunction occurs on the unit.—Press 1 to turn off the unit, press andhold 1, then press 8 for two seconds ormore.2. The Disc Tray doesn’t open.—Take out the disc in following ways.● Connect and the disconnect the powercord from the main outlet.● Press and hold the open/close button(x) on the unit until the disc tray opens.(it will take about 30sec.)● Close the disc tray by pressing the open/close button after taking out the disc.(the main power shuts down.)ATTENTION:This unit contains microcomputers. External electronic noise or interference could cause malfunctioning. In such cases, switch theunit off and unplug the mains power cord. Then plug it in again and turn the unit on. Take out the disc. After checking the disc,operate the unit as usual.
