If a disc gets dirty,dusty, scratched or warped, theimages and sound will not bepicked up correctly, and such adisc may cause the unit to malfunction.Label sideDo not damage the label side, stick paper to or use any adhesiveson its surface.Recording sideMake sure that discs are not scratched or dirty on the recordingside before use. Scratches and dirt on the recording side of a discmay hinder proper playback and recording. Also be careful that aDVD-RAM disc may get scratched or dirty when removed fromcartridge then put back in after use.StorageMake sure that discs are kept in their cases. If discs are piled ontop of one another without their protective cases, they can bedamaged. Do not put discs in a location where they may beexposed to direct sunlight, or in a place where the humidity ortemperature is high. Avoid leaving discs in your car!Maintenance of discsIf there are fingerprints or other dirt adheringto a disc, wipe with a soft dry cloth, movingfrom the centre outwards.If a disc is difficult to clean, wipe with a clothmoistened with water. Never use recordcleaners, petrol, alcohol or any anti-staticagents.CAUTION:Sometimes during playback, noise may appear or images maybe garbled. This is sometimes due to the disc. (It may not be upto industry standards.)These symptoms are caused by the discs, not by the malfunctionof the unit.
