Silica is a basiccomponent of sand, quartz, brick clay,granite and numerous other mineralsand rocks. Exposure to excessiveamount of such dust can cause:Respiratory disease (affecting yourability to breath), including chronicbronchitis, silicosis and pulmonaryfibrosis from exposure to silica.
