ASSEMBLY18 – English 1154886-49 Rev.4 2013-06-20Fitting the bar and chain• Check that the chain brake is in disengaged positionby moving the front hand guard towards the fronthandle. (34)• Unscrew the bar nut and remove the clutch cover(chain brake). Take off the transportation ring (A). (35)• Fit the bar over the bar bolt. Place the bar in itsrearmost position. Place the chain over the drivesprocket and in the groove on the bar. Begin on the topside of the bar. (36)• Make sure that the edges of the cutting links are facingforward on the top edge of the bar.• Mount the clutch cover and remember to fit the chainadjuster pin in the hole in the bar. Check that the drivelinks of the chain fit correctly over the drive sprocketand that the chain is correctly located in the groove inthe bar. Tighten the bar nut with your fingers.• Tension the chain by turning the chain tensioningscrew clockwise using the combination spanner. Thechain should be tensioned until it does not sag fromthe underside of the bar. (37)• The chain is correctly tensioned when there is noslack on the underside of the bar, and it can still beturned easily by hand. Tighten the bar nut with thecombination spanner while holding up the tip of thebar. (38)• When fitting a new chain, the chain tension has to bechecked frequently until the chain is run-in. Check thechain tension regularly. A correctly tensioned chainensures good cutting performance and long life. (39)(47)! WARNING! Always wear gloves, whenworking with the chain.
