11Artwork number: 080-1437ENGLISHRear Panel ConnectionsREAR PANEL CONNECTIONSB Video Monitor Output: Connect these jacks tothe composite input of a TV monitor or video projectorto view the output of any video source selected by thereceiver’s video switcher.C HDMI Inputs: Connect the HDMI output of videosources such as a DVD player, set-top box or HDTVtuner to either of these jacks.D HDMI Output: Connect this jack to the HDMIinput on a compatible HDMI-equipped video display.E Monitor Component Video Outputs: Connectthese outputs to the component video inputs of avideo projector or monitor. When a source connectedto one of the two Component Video Inputs 8Fis selected the signal will be sent to these jacks.F Video 2 Component Video Inputs: Connectthe y/Pr/Pb component video outputs of a DVD playerto these jacks.Note: All component inputs/outputs can be used forRGB signals too, in the same way as described for they/Pr/Pb signals, then connected to the jacks with thecorresponding color.RGB connection is not possible if the source outputs aseparate sync signal (see page 13).G AC Power Cord: Connect the AC plug to anunswitched AC wall output.H DVD Video Inputs: Connect these jacks to thecomposite output jacks on a DVD player or other videosource.I Video 1 Video Outputs: Connect these jacks tothe RECORD/INPUT composite jack on a VCR.J Video 2 Audio Inputs: Connect these jacks to thePLAY/OUT audio jacks on a VCR or other video source.K Video 2 Video Inputs: Connect these jacks to thePLAY/OUT composite jacks on a second VCR or othervideo source.L Optical Digital Inputs: Connect the opticaldigital output from a DVD player, HDTV receiver, LDplayer, MD player or CD player to these jacks. Thesignal may be either a Dolby Digital signal, a DTSsignal or a standard PCM digital source.M Video 1 Video Inputs: Connect these jacks tothe PLAY/OUT composite jacks on a TV or other videosource.N 6-Channel Direct Inputs: These jacks are usedfor connection to source devices such as DVD-Audio orSACD players with discrete analog outputs.O Digital Audio Output: Connect this jack to thematching digital input connector on a digital recorder.PQS Front/Center Speaker Outputs: Connectthese outputs to the matching + or – terminals onyour front/center speakers. When making speakerconnections, always make certain to maintain correctpolarity by connecting the red (+) terminals on theAVR to the red (+) terminals on the speaker andthe black (–) terminals on the AVR to the black (–)terminals on the speakers. (See page 14 for moreinformation on speaker polarity.)RT Surround Speaker Outputs: Connect theseoutputs to the matching + or – terminals on your leftand right surround speakers. When making speakerconnections always make certain to maintain correctpolarity by connecting the red (+) terminals on theAVR to the red (+) terminals on the speakers andthe black (–) terminals on the AVR to the black (–)terminals on the speakers.
