If used improperly, you could becomedistracted by the display, which could lead to an accidentcausing serious personal injury or death. Only access theinformation displayed on the device with a glance. Alwaysmaintain awareness of your surroundings and do not stare at thedisplay or become distracted by the display. Focusing on thedisplay could cause you to miss obstacles or hazards. Use thedevice at your own risk.The stereo can show live video and audio from connectedvehicle cameras, such as backup cameras or side-mirrorcameras.If your vehicle cameras and stereo were included with the newvehicle, the cameras are already connected and configured bythe manufacturer.If you are installing your own backup camera kit, you mustconnect the camera video to a video input on the back of thestereo, and the camera microphone to the Aux2 input (ifapplicable). To show the camera automatically, you mustconnect the camera to a camera trigger wire. For moreinformation about the stereo connections, see the RV-IN1501Series Installation Instructions.Viewing a Vehicle CameraBefore you can view a vehicle camera, a compatible cameramust be connected to the stereo.Before you can view cameras automatically, you must enablecamera auto-display options (Enabling Camera Auto-Display,page 21).1 Select an option to view a vehicle camera:• To automatically show the backup camera, place thevehicle into reverse.• To automatically show a side-mirror camera, activate thevehicle turn signal.NOTE: This option is typically available only as amanufacturer option on select vehicles, and may not beavailable on your vehicle.• To manually show the backup camera, select >Camera.The vehicle camera view appears on the screen.2 If available, select to mute or unmute audio from thecamera microphone.TIP: If the vehicle camera microphone is connected and thisoption is not available, verify the microphone is enabled(Enabling the Vehicle Camera Microphone, page 21).3 Select an option to resume normal operation:• Take the vehicle out of reverse.• Deactivate the vehicle turn signal.• Select .Enabling Camera Auto-DisplayYou can enable or disable auto-display features for compatiblevehicle cameras.1 Select > Camera > > Auto-Display.2 Select a camera.Flipping the Camera ImageIn some installation situations or when performing reversemaneuvers, you can reflect the camera image, similar to theview in a rearview mirror.1 Select > Camera > > Mirror Video.2 Select a camera.Enabling the Vehicle Camera MicrophoneBefore you can enable the vehicle camera microphone, it mustbe connected to the Aux2 input on the stereo.If the connected vehicle camera includes a microphone, you canenable or disable the microphone in the camera viewer.Select > Camera > > Mic Installed.When the microphone is enabled, appears on the camerascreen.TrafficNOTICEGarmin is not responsible for the accuracy or timeliness of thetraffic information.Your device can provide information about traffic on the roadahead or on your route. You can set your device to avoid trafficwhen calculating routes, and to find a new route to yourdestination if a large traffic delay occurs on your active route(Traffic Settings, page 24). The traffic map allows you tobrowse the map for traffic delays in your area.To provide traffic information, your device must be receivingtraffic data.• All product models can receive subscription-free traffic datausing the Smartphone Link app (Receiving Traffic Data UsingSmartphone Link, page 21).Traffic data is not available in all areas. For information abouttraffic coverage areas, go to garmin.com/traffic.Receiving Traffic Data Using SmartphoneLinkYour device can receive free traffic data through theSmartphone Link app.1 Connect your device to Smartphone Link.2 On your RV-IN1501 device, select > Navigation > Traffic,and verify the Traffic check box is selected.Enabling TrafficYou can enable or disable traffic data.1 Select > Navigation > Traffic.2 Select the Traffic check box.Viewing Traffic on the MapThe traffic map shows color-coded traffic flow and delays onnearby roads.1 From the main menu, select > Traffic.2 If necessary, select > Legend to view the legend for thetraffic map.Vehicle Cameras 21
