Presseach page selection key to get familiar with available pages. Practiceusing the cyclic fields to display new information. Examine the ActiveRoute Page as the simulation progresses. If you want, change thesimulation speed. You won’t break the GPS 100 even if you enter anoutrageous speed like 999 knots!· As you progress through the simulation, the GPS 100 will alert youwith a message when you are within one minute of reaching DryTortugas. When passing DRYTG, the GPS 100 will automaticallysequence to the next waypoint which is KEYW (Key West).· At some point during the simulation, you may wish to try the GOTOfunction. Suppose severe weather was reported in the Dry Tortugasarea. You wish to shorten your trip by heading directly to Key West,Florida. Simply press the GOTO key. The CDI page will be displayedas illustrated below. Remember, your data may be different.· Enter KEYW. The GPS 100 will set an instantaneous course and youare on your way to Key West!· If you have not customized your unit, this may be a good time to reviewChapter 11 for information concerning custom settings. Doing so willhelp you understand what each setting will do.· If you wish to stop the simulation, simply turn the GPS 100 off. Werecommend that you delete the routes (see Section 7.5) and thewaypoint (see Section 4.9) created in this simulation prior to usingyour unit again.
