21TAKEOFF TOUR190-00356-00 Rev BFlight PlansFlight PlansThe 400W-series lets you create up to 20 flightplans, with up to 31 waypoints in each flight plan.Flight plans are created, edited and activated using theFPL key. The FPL page group includes two pages: theactive flight plan page and the flight plan catalog. Theactive flight plan page provides information and editingfeatures for the flight plan currently in use (referred toas “flight plan 00”). The flight plan catalog serves as themain page for creating new flight plans, as well as edit-ing or activating previously created flight plans.Active flight plan page with flight plancurrently in use.Since using flight plans is arguably one of the morecomplex features of the 400W-series, we’ll only discussit briefly here — focusing on creating a new flightplan and activating it to use for navigation. Additionalinformation about flight plans can be found in Section4 Flight Plans.To create a new flight plan:1. Press the FPL key and turn the small rightknob to select the flght plan catalog.2. Press the MENU key to dsplay the flght plancatalog optons.3. Turn the large right knob to select “CreateNew Flght Plan?” and press ENT.To create a new flight plan, select “CreateNew Flight Plan?” from the flight plancatalog options.4. The cursor wll appear on the first waypontdentfer feld (located drectly below“WAYPOINT”). Use the large and smallright knobs to enter the dentfier of the firstwaypont n the flght plan. (The small knobs used to select the desred letter or numberand the large knob s used to move to thenext character space.)Enter the identifier for each airport and/ornavaid into the flight plan in the samesequence you wish to fly.5.
