5. MAINTENANCEDANGER! Electric shock!Risk of injury due to electric shock.v Disconnect Garden Pump from the mains beforecarrying out maintenance.Cleaning the filter [ Fig. M1 ]:If the filter is dirty it has to be cleaned.1. Close all shut-off valves, if any, on the suction side.2. Unscrew and remove cover 6 of the filter chamber.3. Draw out filter unit vertically upwards.4. Hold beaker 0 firmly, turn filter q anti-clockwise 1and draw out 2 (bayonet fitting). [ Fig. M2 / M3 ].5. Clean beaker 0 under running water and clean thefilter q e. g. with a soft brush.6. Refit filter again in reverse order.Flush through Garden Pump:The pump must be flushed through after dischargingchlorinated swimming pool water.1. Pump through lukewarm water (max. 35 °C), possiblyadding a mild cleaning agent (e.g. detergent) until thepumped water runs clear.2. Remove residuals according to the waste disposal lawsapplicable in your area.6. TROUBLESHOOTINGDANGER! Electric shock!Risk of injury due to electric shock.v Disconnect Garden Pump from the mains beforetrouble shooting.Free the impeller [ Fig. T1 ]:An impeller blocked by dirt can be freed again.v Turn the impeller bolt w using a screwdriver. This will free the blocked impeller.Cleaning the flow sensor [ Fig. T2 ]:If the flow sensor is dirty, this may result in spurious errormessages (LED flashes orange).1. Unscrew both screws e.2. Remove the cover r.3. Undo the screw t and detach the clip z.4. Unscrew the cap u anticlockwise.5. Remove the impeller i and clean it. Clean the housingof the flow sensor.6. Re-fit the impeller i with the metal part in the mountingdirection.7. Screw the cap u into place clockwise.8. Secure the cap u by way of the clip z using thescrew t.9. First insert the cover r at the top and then tighten thetwo screws e at the bottom.Problem Possible Cause RemedyPump runs, but the suctionaction doesn’t take placePump sucks in air at a joint. v Seal connections on suction side soare airtight.Leaky or damaged suctionhose.v Check suction line for damage andseal so is airtight. The pump was not filled withthe liquid to be pumped.v Fill the pump (see 3. OPERATION).The liquid escapes over thehose which is connected tothe delivery side during the suctionaction.1. Fill the pump again(see 3. OPERATION).2. When starting operation hold thepressure hose approx. 1 m verticallyabove the pump, until the suctionaction has taken place.Absolutely vacuum-resistant connection is achieved by using GARDENASuction Hoses (see point 7. ACCESSORIES).Leaky screw fitting 6 at the fillercap 7.v Check seal (replace if necessary) andtighten connection securely (do notuse pliers).EN14
